Route Maps

Below are the routes for the 2019 Tour of Novato. Participants can ride in one of four routes designed to accommodate riders of all abilities. In addition to the riding routes, there is a walking tour of downtown Novato. All rides and walks start and end on Sherman Avenue near the intersection of Grant Avenue in downtown Novato. Route Markers - Each route is marked with different colored Route Arrows on the road surface. See below for colors. Each turn has one or more arrows before the turn, one arrow at the turn, and one confirmation arrow after the turn.

Novato Classic

Choose from one of three distances: 50 km (30.5 miles), 40 km (25 miles), or 25 km (15.5 miles). Follow the different color arrows depending on the length of ride you want. View the Map. Download a PDF Map that shows the optional route distances.

Family Ride

Distance: 12 km (7.4 miles). An easy in-town ride suitable for the whole family. Follow the Blue arrows. View the Map.

CycleBar Challenge

Want to have a great ride without worrying about the hazards on the road? Not to mention the weather! We have just the option for you. Our friends at Novato CycleBar in the Hamilton Marketplace are hosting an indoor ride in the safe confines of their incredible facility. The ride takes place on Sunday May 5th at 12 noon. Not only will you have a great experience while cycling to the beats choreographed by one of their CycleStars but there will be some great treats for you as well. Sign up for this route and we'll send you information on how to sign up for a time and bike.

Tyke Trek

A short, flat, and easy ride around the event area. Starting at 10:00 am supplies will be available for children of all ages who have registered for the event, to decorate their Bike, Trike, or Scooter. After decorating their Tyke Trek-mobile of choice, there will be a short parade around the confines of Machin & Sherman Avenues starting at 10:30 am.

While no cars are permitted in this area during the event, there will be many pedestrians so please stay with your child at all times to ensure their safety. Healthy kid friendly lunches and Fun Inflatable Zone admissions are available in advance through the Tour of Novato Store, or at the registration tent the day of the event.

Downtown Walking Adventure

Total distance is approximately 4 km (2.5 miles). A flat and easy walk around downtown Novato that will include some fun surprises along the way.  Costumes are encouraged, and we will have some awards for costumes including the following categories:

  • Best family or group costume
  • Best school spirit costume
  • Best pet costume
  • Best "May the 4th Be With You" tribute to Star Wars costume

Winners will be announced during the Community Fair and posted on the School Fuel's Tour of Novato facebook page.
